Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Petit Point Cluster Turquoise Brooch/Pendant - Signed
This Vintage Navajo Mid 20th Century round brooch/pin features 39 hand cut petit point turquoise stones. The stones are set in hand crafted fine saw tooth bezels with exquisite detailed silver ropework. The stones exhibit color variation of both blue and green stones. The back of the brooch has a working pin & a bale so it could be worn as a pendant. Excellent condition. Circa: Late 1950's - Early 1960's. Stamped by Master silversmith Tommy Lowe.
This type of work is called Petit Point as the design is created from tiny petit stones that are cut in the same shapes and clustered into the design. Petit Point stones are shaped in round, oval, pear, square and rectangle. Zuni Indians have been creating Petit Point Jewelry for decades and their designs continue to amaze Jewelers throughout the world.
