This is a handsome, highly detailed and multi-dimensional Classic ZUNI Native American Bolo Tie. The artist has used dry creek turquoise, mother of pearl, mediterranean coral, and black onyx all set into a mosaic channel inlay to form the bird. The artist includes twisted wire across the shoulders and down the side of the wings and tail feathers. He's also included silver drops on the head feather , both sides of the waist, and tail of the bird. It was made of unsigned/unmarked sterling silver with handtooled rope design silverwork around the stones. Attached on the back is a C-31 bolo thumb locking clasp. It measures approx. 1¾" L x 1¼" W and weighs 30.3 grams and is in excellent vintage condition. This is a great looking traditional Southwestern Bolo Tie. It is in a Classic Zuni style. This makes a great fashion statement. Create a unique Bohemian look if you are not into Western wear. The Thunderbird Totem is strong in many cultures. You can wear this Bolo both loose and informal, up tight into your collar for a more tradition western style that serves formally as a Neck Tie.
